Hawaii’s only CAMTS* accredited air medical transport service, AirMed provides medical transportation between the Hawaiian Islands, the mainland, and throughout the world on a 24/7 basis. We are dedicated to patient safety and while it's not a requirement, we’re the only air medical transport service in Hawaii to fly with two pilots on every mission.
Managed locally and operated by an experienced team of over 70 Hawaii-based staff, AirMed is also a division of the nation’s preeminent air medical transport service, AirMed International. AirMed International was named the top air medical transport firm in 2007 and 2008 by ITIJ in a worldwide competition, and is the only air ambulance program in the world to hold both CAMTS and EURAMI accreditation, in addition to U.S. Department of Defense approved air carrier status.
*CAMTS (The Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Services) is the only accreditation agency to offer worldwide standards for ground, helicopter and fixed wing medical transport systems. The voluntary review process covers every aspect of the AirMed operation from patient medical care to aircraft safety.
*EURAMI (European Aero Medical Institute) is a non-profit association of air medical professionals and operators from 27 countries in and outside Europe aiming to promote air rescue and to develop and harmonize quality standards and to improve patient care and safety in air medical transports.
