Welcome to Jamaica!!!

Jamaica is located in the Caribbean Sea. The island is famous for its beautiful beaches, for its wonderful weather and for its nice people. If you are looking for a place to spend your next vacations, Jamaica may be the place you are looking for. If you visit the Island once, I am sure you will want to come back every year.

Jamaica can be divided in three zones, the North Coast, which is wet and green; the South, which is drier; and the Countryside. Most of the tourists go to the North Coast, especially to the west. But if you have enough time, you should not skip the South and the countryside.

I could give you a thousand reasons to come to Jamaica, but I won't. Instead, I invite you to take a look at the pictures I shot in the Island. I am sure they will convince you. Unfortunately recently Jamaica has had some bad press. Sure there are some areas in Jamaica that are dangerous (i.e.. Kingston), but I do not think Jamaica is more dangerous than the average "Western" city. I was also warned about the harassment, but I didn't felt harassed in Jamaica. Not even once. I met many nice people. Some of them didn't have much, but they had all they need.

Negril

Currently Negril is Jamaica's main tourist destination. With its wonderful 7 mile beach, its rocky cliffs, its unbelievable sun sets and its all inclusive resorts, Negril has no competition in the Caribbean. If you want a place with plenty of sun, with a nice beach and where you can party, this is the place for you!

Montego Bay

It used to be Jamaica's main destination. The first Jamaican all inclusive hotels opened their doors here more than 20 years ago. The town has some nice private beaches, many restaurants and bars and an enjoyable night life.

Ocho Rios

It is the main cruisers port in the Island. Apart from the souvenir shops and its main beach, there is nothing to see in the town of Ocho Rios. But there are several excursions which will keep you busy for several days. There is one one day trip you should not miss, the visit to the Dunn River Falls. In the area you will also find nice beaches, snorkeling and scuba diving sites, polo and golf courses and beautiful local markets. And do not forget the Bob Marley's Mausoleum.

Port Antonio

Located on the Northeast coast of Jamaica, this small town attracts a selective tourism. The area has some of the most beautiful beaches in Jamaica. Port Antonio is famous for the Blue Lagoon --where the film with Brooke Shields was shot--, for the Rio Grande raftings and for the Blue Mountain trekking.

 

Treasure Beach and Black River

Treasure Beach is the perfect destination if you are looking for more laid back place. This town in the South of the island, has some nice beaches. Not far from Treasure Beach is the Black River, where you can see the Crocodiles, the mangroves and the nice birds.
