Opera 6.0 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
now my default browser. Opera just doesn't work well on 9.1 with this new version. It's a beta-version at the best. A total disappointment and the list of what doesn't work would be too long to go into here. [alert admin]

Opera 6.0 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
why Versiontracker sent me here when I want to comment on Opera 6 as I run OS 9.1, but that's nothing I can do about. Can't say so much about the technical aspects of this version as I am not that technically oriented, but as an ordinary user, there are a couple things which isn't so good: all my bookmarks from version 5 is gone! Haven't been able to import from IE, either. Tried to import from Opera 5, but it only showed the same list as comes with 6, so prefs were changed automatically. That should be the other way round. Very irritating. Might be some solution to it, hidden in some FAQs, but one shouldn't have to search for solutions in such a simple matter. Another simple matter - and a detail, perhaps - is the font size in this text field. It's diminutive! I have put the minimum font size to 12, but obviously it hasn't any effect on these text fields. Another detail to be searched for in FAQs? Shouldn't have to be this small when size is 100% and one shouldn't have to search FAQs. Scrolling pages appears to be very jumpy and not smooth at all. And what about that screen at start up?`Seems like a non-paying user can't opt not to have it there. That's a poor way to convince people to buy! It just convinces me of the opposite. I don't like to be put pressure upon. Make it worth buying and I buy. The GUI is better than I feared after looking at a couple of the betas, but it is still too Windows-like. 2,5 stars would have been on the spot, but as Opera was good, I lean to be more positive, but I hope you will make some improvements soon and that version 7 will bring back Opera for Mac as one of the best out there. I am afraid that it can't be said about this version... [alert admin]

Address Office 3.3 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
6.1!!! He must be on a Classic as well. No reason to give this app just one star, though, but it is still impressive, don't you think? [alert admin]

more than EU, yes, even EU is more than Euroland. If you change that word: European with Euro - Euro-countries - I'd say that it does what it says it shall, but it doesn't now. It would've been real useful and a good, li'l fiver if one could convert between Euro and Norwegian and Danish and Swedish Kroner and British Pounds etc. But it is free and seems to be nicely done as it is, so I give it three, although it is not very useful because of the limitations. Yahoo! Messenger 2.5 (Mac OS 9)
I've tried more than twice and in different days. StuffIt won't open it. I've got the beta but would like to have the final version. So, what's up, Yahoo? [alert admin]

PostArmor 1.2 (Mac OS 9)
communicating with the author and the situation is like this; MacOS9 will be the only major OS without Swing (OSX has it). There is an attempt from an Italian university to create an alternative to it, though, but the result lies in the future. So, it's either to get it now or to wait until you move to X, if you want to use this app or any other which needs Swing. (This is the first I've come across, though) [alert admin]

Compositor 1.9.5 (Mac OS 9)
to be a nice addition to Photoshop in my array of graphic apps. What is really nice, indeed, is the generous offer to buy the earlier version for 19 dollars (especially when the euro is high:-) and get a free upgrade to the current when it enters beta. Couldn't resist it, mate! I had a look at ArtMatic since it was mentioned and it might be more powerful, but it is not in the same price range, which I think should be taken into consideration as well. I will give it 4 now, but it seems to be going towards 5. So far, I only miss the ability to reduce the effects afterwards like in Photoshop - or in any way more control and preview before you apply them. [alert admin]
