Sept. 14 Arrival in Peru, Airport transfer to hotel in San Isidro. Car and Driver Hotel in San Isidro
Sept. 15 Land transportation back to Lima airport for 1hr. 10min flight to Cuzco. Drive (1h. 40m.) to hotel in the Sacred Valley. Opportunities along the way to photograph spectacular scenery. Car and Driver

Sept. 16 After breakfast departure by bus to the village of Chinchero. Explore indigenous market with guide in morning. Afternoon visit to the home of artist and master weaver. Afternoon visit to "Las Salinas" salt mine and lunch. Overnight in the village of Ollantaytambo (with Challenge participants). Car and Driver Hotel Pakaritampu B,L,D
Sept. 17 After an early breakfast, we expore Ollantaytambo. Later in the morning, the group will travel to the village of Patacancha; a traditional Andean lunch will be enjoyed with the Quechua community. Dinner and overnight at Willka T'ika Guest House.

Sept. 18 Drive to Cuzco and guided tour to the Temple of the Sun, Santo Domingo Church, Sacsayhuaman (immense walled complex) Qenco and Tambomachay. Return to Sacred Valley and overnight at Willka T'ika Guest House.

Sept. 19 After a breakfast, drive to the complex village of Pisac, one of the largest fortress-cities of the Incas. Moderate 1-1/2 hour walk to Intihuatana temple. Later in day, drive to village of Urubamba and visit local ceramic studio. Overnight at Willka T'ika Guest House.

Sept. 20 After a very early breakfast, depart from hotel and begin journey to Machu Picchu- the "Lost City of the Incas". Explore mazes of empty plazas, chambers and dwellings saddled atop steep mountainsides. Overnight in Aguas Calientes.

Sept. 21 Early breakfast and walking tour of cloud forest. Learn about the rich plant and birdlife- 162 different bird species! After, visit the Spectacled Andean Bear Conservation Project. The Andean Bear is currently an endangered species and biggest arboreal mammal in the Neotropic. Later in the afternoon we depart for Machu Picchu and meet the Challenge participants. The group will return to hotel for dinner and overnight (with Challenge participants).

Sept. 22 Relax and enjoy a free day exploring Machu Picchu. Return to the city of Cuzco. Train Hotel in Cuzco B,D
Sept. 23 Morning transfer from hotel to Cuzco airport and fly back to Lima. Farewell Peruvian lunch at Lima restaurant. Late afternoon departure for airport and evening flight to USA. Car and driver Day room at Lima hotel B,L
