Gang Garrison 2 is a fan-made game created by a team of three people consisting of MedO (programming), mrfredman (artwork), and Synnah (sound). It was first released on August 7th, 2008 (version 1.0); the current release is version b22 (the 16th release). The game was created for TIGSource Forums’ Demake Contest. As the title of the contest suggests, the game aims to "demake" Team Fortress 2 using retro-styled sounds and graphics while retaining most of the gameplay of the original. The game itself is written and created using the proprietary software application Game Maker.
The game is fully multiplayer and works very much like Team Fortress 2's game interface, enabling players to customise game options and host or play online matches. Elements of the original title are parodied such as a tongue-in-cheek recreation of the Steam interface, an 8-Bit style remix of the Team Fortress 2 Theme[1] and Valve's introduction splash being replaced with a suitably retro logo for the fictional company, "FAUCET".
