![[User Picture]](http://p-userpic.livejournal.com/73934291/7420342) [Link] | So I got this email the other day. It asked: So, the Big Cheese is so powerful that some have mistaken him for God... but can he see why kids love Cinnamon Toast Crunch?
I laughed for five minutes and then gave him a free month of J&W!. Because that joke was at least worth $2.
I leave for California on Monday morning. I've got up to Thursday's strips done, but I also have lots of freetime while Maggie's at work, so I'm not too worried about getting enough strips done. Well, unless I find new, not-so-contructive ways to fill my free time.
For instance, I've spent a good portion today fiddling with this Transformers Wikipedia. Apparently, it was created almost 9 months ago, but only consists of a few lists of characters. No full entries anywhere, that I can find.
So, of course, I decided to put up an exhaustive history of Robot-Master. At the moment, it is the only completed article on the whole site, to my knowledge. There's not even a page for freakin' Optimus Prime, but there's documentation of Donny Finkleberg's pitch for a Potato Salad Man graphic novel titled This Man, This Mayonnaise. I find this hilarious.
Let us take a moment while this amuses me.
Okay. Moment over. Time to go add more entries of other awesome characters that desperately need entries, like Bomber Bill and "O." Maybe even Paddles. Oh, the wealth of obscurity I could fill this Wiki no one is using with! (You know I'm doing Hot Shot next, or at least putting up a stub page for him. I declared ownership of him long ago.)
I decided how to organize things. This felt kind of, well, presumptuous of me, but apparently nobody else bothered to, so I guess it was up to me. Most Transformers share names with other Transformers. There's 3 distinct characters named Starscream, and at least two Soundwaves. And so I've made sure all my character page links have the series they're from in parentheses. For example: Optimus_Prime_(G1), Optimus_Primal_(BW), Optimus_Prime_(RiD), Optimus_Prime_(UT) (UT, of course, stands for "Unicron Trilogy," which is Hasbro's unofficial name for Armada/Energon/Cybertron.) So if any of you guys are adding entries, staying to that format would be cool.
Since I'm sorting everything up by character, there'll be some interesting technicalities, such as Beast Wars Ravage linking to Ravage_(G1). 'Cuz, y'know, he's the same guy. And then there's all the characters that fans fight over about whether they're the same individuals as other characters or not. Will T-Wrecks get his own page, or will it forward you to Grimlock_(G1)?
*shrug* It's just another way to kill time.
I need fewer of those.

there is comprehensive information at wikipedia for Optimus Prime. For some reason it isn't linked to the transformers.wikipedia/wikicities subsection.

Wikipedia already has exhaustive information on Transformers. Why can't someone just snag the pages from there and copy them over?
They totally could, if they wanted to. I think that most of the Wikipedia entries could probably be rewritten for a more specific audience. Being a Transformers-specific wiki sort of opens things up to be more obscure.

Wikipedia is for everyone. A Transformers Wiki could be, well, for transfans. Things that Wikipedia's Editors-at-large may find mundane and try to condense with the usual cry of, "There dosen't need to be this much information about a toy line," can reside safely in a transformers wiki. :)
Considering I know only bits and pieces about these "new" series, and only know stuff about G1, I find such a resource useful to aquaint myself with these strange new Transformers (Cybertron line)
First time I picked up Starscream's box in Cybertron, I was like, "Woah. Since when did Starscream get balls?" Its like someone paid homage to Chris Latta.

I consider it payback for the first time I read "I'm batman".
Please tell us your not going to make it a habbit of giving stuff for great jokes. The last thing you need is a flood of bad jokes.
Yeah I was gonna say, "And thus, Willis was overwhelmed with 1GB of bad IW!, SP!, and J&W! jokes in his Inbox.". :P

I hate those Cinammon Toast Crunch commercials with a burning passion. Especially the one with the lifeguard. He answers the question correctly and they still tear him apart.
Kids: Does he know why kids love Cinammon Toast Crunch?
Lifeguard: It has tan lines?
Kids: WRONG, STUPID! God, you are so useless! It's the cinammon and sugar swirled over every bite! Idiot!
Lifeguard: B-but that's what I said! I just called them tan lines because that's what they look like! You kids are so mean! *sob*
Kids: Shut up! We own you, you low wage slob!
(And don't get me started on those Trix weirdos. Bunch of sadists.)

Me? I get pissed at Lucky Charms commercials. The kids are actively stealing from the leprechaun, not his pot of gold, but his food!
Fruity Pebbles? Fred should have Barney arrested!

you know...i was talking to my wife about that today...what is up with cereal commercials being so theft-based?...either the mascot is trying to steal food from children...or children are trying to steal food from him...
and speaking of stealing food...what the hell kind of horrible childhood did the inventor of the game "don't wake daddy" have in order to come up with a game where kids have to avoid waking their father in order to eat?...that poor abused bastard...at least he figured out a way to profit from his hellish childhood of starvation and beatings....skott

Great. Another thing to keep me awake at night. Lovely.
Yeah, my roommate saw it too, so I contacted Riddler about it. It should be down now, so if you see it again, lemme know. Thanks!
I just assumed you'd shilled their likeness for a pittiance.
Speaking of likeness righte- I've been meaning to ask... do you have a particular way you want LJ icons credited? Amber's confusion owns me.
Use 'em for LJ icons all you want. Advertising iconography, though, you gotta pay me for.
Wait, so they just went ahead and used them without your say so?
Did they say why?
I had honestly thought that you had given them a yes since its been up and around the site for a while now.
Me too, and I kept forgetting that I was gonna make a topic about it on SP!/IW! forum.
What part of California ya headed too man? I'm stuck in the Mojave desert area near Lancaster/Mojave/Palmdale.

Ravage (BW) would include a crosslink: See Ravage (G1) Special Note: In the Japanese Beast Wars Metal Manga (a highly-altered retelling of Beast Wars seasons 2 & 3) Jaguar (Ravage) was actually the son of the G1 Jaguar (Ravage).
...you are going to include a General Jaguar note for Ravage's bio, right? I'm pretty sure I can track down mcdonalds character art for you... And his wierd ending in the Playstation Game? ...and Binaltech? (Given BT, it's entirely possible that Metal Jagual coudl actually both BE G1 Ravage AND Ravage's son-- depsnding on hwo you define father-son relationships. A semi-clone offshoot?)

You might be able to find better out there but here's the McDonald's Panther art that's on my website in case you don't.

And there is also the difficulty to know in wich category you fit the Binaltech storyine. (comic, tv series, toys?)
TV. It's set in Beast Wars's version of G1. (Which, you'll recall, changed the past- but was ALWAYS DESTINED to change the past. Don't think about it too closely.) (Seriously, T anyway- it's G1 'toon, with other stuff spliced onto it)
I figured I'd apologise. You're a cool guy. But I used AdBlock to block all the ads on your site. Nothing personal. You understand.
*shrug* It's just another way to kill time.
I need fewer of those. I think you need another comic. Aaron "The Mad Whitaker" Bourque; clearly, 2 and coloring another isn't enough.

No, but he did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

Hmm, I'm not sure it makes sense to reference the Unicron Trilogy like that. Rather, it might be better to reference the specific series from the UT. While this might be awkward since it might mean a certain doubling of information, the fact that Galaxy Force is a seperate continuity from Cybertron could be a problem otherwise.

Oh man, somebody totally needs to make a fancomic of that! The Cheese in one of those commercials, brilliance! "It is destined to be so." or "Because I have willed it." |
