Rome Clean & Green, in partnership with Keep America Beautiful and the city, want a lucky winner to beat the high gas prices with their summer fund-raiser.

Now through July 31, local residents are invited to purchase $10 tickets for their chance to win a Schwinn Laguna 50 scooter. Officials said the economical mode of transportation gets more than 100 miles per gallon.

Only 2,000 tickets will be available. All proceeds will continue to fund the efforts of Rome Clean & Green, which provides beautification of the city, housing restoration and annual clean-up.

Tickets are available at Rome Historical Society, Rome Chamber of Commerce, the Savoy Restaurant on Saranac Wednesdays, Rome City Farmers Market on Fridays and during the Wednesday Night Concert Series at City Hall.
