School of Public Health to Lead Conference on Autism

The Drexel University School of Public Health was recently awarded a $25,000 grant from Autism Speaks to lead a national conference on autism spectrum disorders (ASD) research in the Fall of 2009. The conference will examine ethical and risk communications issues of ASD research, as well as help address health disparities in the communication of autism research findings.

Pfizer Awards "Moments in Leadership" Grant to School

The Drexel University School of Public Health was recently awarded a $15,000 grant from Pfizer Inc. to lead a Grand Rounds lecture series that focuses on leadership in core areas of public health. The School of Public Health was one of only twelve schools nationwide to receive the grant from Pfizer Inc.

Pfizer Visiting Professor Speaks on Diabetes

The Drexel University School of Public Health was awarded one of only eight Visiting Professorships in Diabetes from Pfizer this year.  Dr. Frank Hu, MD, PhD, a professor of nutrition and epidemiology at Harvard University, gave the lecture, "Understanding the Complex Causes of Diabetes:  Improving Guidance for Prevention and Management," on Wednesday, December 10 at the School of Public Health.  Additional workshops and seminars were held earlier in the week.
