Welcome to HotelGuide.Networks' directory of hotels and hotel reviews for Jamaica!
Shimmering sunsets, silvery beaches and sparkling waters against a backdrop of luxuriant green forests on mountains stretching 7,000 feet toward the sky make Jamaica a sought-after destination, especially in winter high season. As the third-largest island in the Caribbean, Jamaica brims with lodging options from quaint guest houses dotting mountainsides to luxurious all-inclusive resorts hugging shorelines. Jamaica nourishes souls with aromatic coffee from the famed Blue Mountains and the spiced "jerk" method of preparing meat. Getting to and from Jamaica’s major cities and towns is destined to be quicker and easier with pending completion of two major road construction projects, Highway 2000 and the North Coast Highway. These two projects are designed to cut driving time among Jamaica’s six resort areas: Kingston, Ocho Rios, Montego Bay, Negril, Port Antonio and the South Coast. One goal is for visitors to spend less time on the road and more time soaking up Jamaican sunshine and other delights. Any true Jamaican experience is incomplete, some say, without a drink at Rick’s Café where sunsets are legendary and cliff divers provide thrills to go with the cold ones. Capital Kingston is built around the 7th largest natural harbor in the world and is home to other natural attractions including the Royal botanical Gardens at Hope and Chichona Gardens. Near Ocho Rios, Fern Gully can be viewed from zebra-striped safari jeeps heading past 200 different ferns to a viewpoint on "Murphy Hill" (2,000 feet above sea level) to look down upon the cruise ship pier, or on a clear day perhaps to Cuba. Famed Dunn’s River Falls is the place to climb the 600-foot terraced cascades for a great sense of accomplishment, chased by Jamaican libation rewards from the island’s Red Stripe beer to something more potent.
