Corporate governance refers to how a company or organization conducts business within the constraints of rules, laws, regulations and controls. Governance issues may be related to internal policies involving to stock holders and organizational missions, or they may come from external mandates, such as regulatory groups, consumer groups and governmental laws and regulations. Issues specific to corporate governance include corporate ethics, social responsibility, community involvement, board of directors activities, etc.
