gallery folders/sections?

I'd like to add a Members picture gallery to my site, is there a way to create a folder that that would link to a section with more galleries? i haven't found anything on 1.3.x that can do this so i'm wondering if i'm just being an idiot (:D), it's an add-on to 1.3.x or it will be introduced in G2? |
