The Prince Center, on the campus of Calvin College, is a short 15-minute ride from the Gerald R. Ford International Airport and just 7 miles from the I-196 / I-96 interchange.
Starting from: Chicago O'hare International Airport ORD, Chicago, IL
Arriving at: Grand Rapids, MI
Distance: 194.5 miles Approximate Travel Time: 3 hours
1. Start going toward the AIRPORT EXIT on I-190 EAST - go 2.7 mi
2. Merge onto I-90 EAST - go 5.7 mi
3. Take the ARMITAGE AVE Left exit onto I-90-EXPRESS - go 6.5 mi
4. Take the I-90 EAST exit toward INDIANA/RYAN EXPY - go 37.0 mi
5. Take exit #21 onto I-94 EAST toward DETROIT - go 64.4 mi
6. Take exit #34 onto I-196 NORTH toward HOLLAND/GD RAPIDS - go 70.3 mi
7. NEW DIRECTIONS: JUST PAST THE TOWN OF HUDSONVILLE YOU WILL SEE A NEW RAMP ON THE RIGHT TO HIGHWAY M-6. TAKE THIS NEW HIGHWAY ABOUT 15 MILES TO EXIT 15
10. Turn Left on E BELTLINE AVE SE[M-37] - YOU WILL BE GOING NORTH. GO FOUR MILES
11. AFTER YOU CROSS BURTON STREET YOU WILL SEE A LIGHTED BRIDGE OVER THE EAST BELTLINE. GET IN THE RIGHT LANE * THERE IS AN ENTRANCE TO THE CAMPUS. TURN RIGHT.
12. YOU WILL TAKE A "SOFT RIGHT" BACK TOWARDS THE BRIDGE (OUR CAMPUS WALK-OVERPASS). TAKE THE ROAD PARALLEL TO THE EAST BELTLINE BUT DRIVING SOUTH.
13. YOU WILL GO UNDER THE BRIDGE AND CURVE LEFT PAST A LARGE COMMUNICATIONS CENTER/CLASSROOM BUILDING. CONINTUE TO THE NEXT LARGE BUILDING * THE PRINCE CONVERENCE CENTER. THERE IS AMPLE PARKING AND THE HOTEL DESK IS IN THE FRONT LOBBY.
THIS HIGHWAY WILL SAVE LOTS OF DRIVE TIME AND HELP THEM AVOID VERY HEAVY TRAFFIC ON 28TH STREET. IT ALSO OFFERS EASIER ACCESS TO THE CAMPUS ENTRANCE.
TO SEE THE HALL, WALK ACROSS THE BRIDGE TO THE WEST CAMPUS. THE FINE ARTS CENTER IS THE FIRST BUILDING AS THEY EXIT THE BRIDGE. ENTER AT THE LOWER LEVEL FOR AUDITORIUM ACCESS
NOTE FROM PRESENTER ABOUT DIRECTIONS:
In regards to directions, getting out of Chicago is correct. Once in the Grand
Rapids area, if it was me, I would continue on I-196 for a couple more miles.
I-196 merges with I-96, take the East Beltline exit (#38) right after the
merge. Take a right at the traffic light and go south on the East Beltline for
3 miles (4 traffic lights). Exit to the right onto Calvin College 's campus
(just before the Bridge Walkway). Follow the signs to the Prince Conference
Center.
It probably takes the same time to go either (mine or the one you printed out)
but M-11 (28th Street) is very busy with many stop lights.
Thank you!
Vera

| AIRPORT SECURITY
Airport security in the U.S. has increased dramatically since September 11. All passengers must check in at least 90 minutes prior to departure time . Be prepared for long lines at airport security check points. Policy for carry-on baggage is: “One standard carry-on bag plus one ‘personal item'.” Personal items are defined as pocketbooks, laptop computers, and briefcases. A violin, viola, bassoon—any instrument carried on—will automatically be considered your standard carry-on bag. This means you will not be allowed another large bag (garment bag, rolling bag, etc.). Those items will need to be checked through. If you must travel with sharp instruments such as cello endpins , knives, scissors, razor blades, nail files, or similar pointed objects, make sure these are packed in the luggage that will be checked through, not inside your carry-on item . No liquids, gel or tooth paste allowed in carry on luggage. Security personnel or the National Guard may search through your carry-on luggage even after it has cleared through the X-Ray machine.
Customers are urged to leave their checked luggage unlocked, which will avoid the potential need for TSA personnel to forcibly open bags that require further physical inspection. Plastic zip ties or cable ties may be used if desired.
Customers are asked to:
Not pack food or beverages in checked bags
Pack footwear on top of other contents
Put personal belongings in clear plastic bags to reduce chances of a TSA screener having to handle them
Spread out - not stack - books
Leave gifts unwrapped should screening require them to be opened .
Put scissors, pocket knives, and other sharp items in checked luggage.
Put film in carry on bag because screening equipment will damage undeveloped film.
Avoid over packing your bag so that the screener will be able to easily reseal your bag if it is opened for inspection.

Southwest Airlines Check in and Boarding Procedure
Each Customer will be issued a boarding pass grouped by A, B, or C based on when the Customer checked in.
For general boarding, Customers holding boarding pass "A" will board first, followed by Customers with boarding pass "B," and then "C."
Because Southwest Airlines maintains an open-seating policy , Customers may sit in any open or unclaimed seat.
EMERGENCIES
For accidental, threatening injuries and sickness that require immediate medical attention, need of an ambulance,
or need to contact the police, dial free of charge from any public or private phone 911.
