Oh, wow... that's funny. I didn't realise, I just changed mine. I don't use it that much myself (I prefer to just zap on sight if possible :)).
BTW...maybe you will like to help me with this? It's a record of all the new accounts that Orgullobot has welcomed. I just go through and check their contribs, and remove them from the list. If you are lucky, all you will need to do is tell them to {{please link images}} (ie, use a category or gallery). More often you will find a whole lot to put NSD or NLD, and if you can tell they don't speak English, maybe hunt down a translator too. Hm, sounds like fun, doesn't it. ;) Well even if you just want to remove the "easy" cases, that would be welcome too. cheers, pfctdayelise (translate?) 15:26, 30 May 2006 (UTC)

Ya, te comprendo, pero con las superpestañas del Firefox 1500 imágenes, entre tres, se arregla en un santiamén. Yeah, I realise that some stuff would just make more sense on a CD (or on paper, ala m:WikiReader). But for the moment I just want to develop some things that are download-only. So maybe no Spoken Wikipedia... Certainly we could sell stuff on Ebay. (Anyone could, of course. :)) It seems a bit... cheap? Hi, recently Image:Ukrainian Stamp Fifa World Cup.jpg has been uploaded ([1]). The image claims to be PD-stamp according to Ukranian law. This seems to me like a reupload of Ukrainian_Stamp_Fifa_Wold_Cup.jpg, deleted by User:Thuresson due to FIFA 2006 world cup logo. I advised him and he sent me to you as you probably know better than us if this stamp can stay on commons or not. (is the stamp PD? can Ukrainia give to public domain a derivateve work of a logo?)

I think that it is likely that Valo3 is a wikipedian who uploaded images that he/she created and then never revisited the commons, and so wasn't aware that anything was wrong until I removed the images from wikipedia. Image:DemonDeLuxe southpark.gif is not an exact duplicate of Image:DemonDeLuxe southpark.png: the eyes are different, skin colour is different and one has a glowing stomach. Yes, {{redundant}} is depreciated. I think you were looking for {{superseded}} (I changed it to this). Note "superseded" is not a deletion tag. I was a little bit annoyed because a lot of people seem to be using {{duplicate}} on PNG flags to get them deleted. IMO this is totally wrong and I plan to change them all to "superseded". ¡Hola! Haciendo algunas traducciones, he llegado a esta página: Commons:Derivative works. Me ha dejado de piedra. Inmediatamente recordé haber visto esta imagen en commons: Image:Microsoft Sign on German campus.jpg pensando que si una foto con alguien con una camiseta del Mikey Mouse no puede ser subida a commons porque el Sr. Walt no te ha autorizado a que publiques esa foto, ese peaso logo de Hasecorp menos todavía. He visto que no soy el único que entiende que según lo que dice esa página, esa imagen no puede estar en commons (se considera el logo de Hasecorp como artwork propietario, además con una señal de copyright). Estoy algo confuso, porque este tipo de restricciones me parecen excesivas (el fair use me parece perfecto que no se admita, pero esto...) así que me gustaría que se aclarase este tema y si esa imagen finalmente no tiene cabida o bien el artículo citado anteriormente no es correcto. Hi, I'm the one who took the picture. This picture is not exactly comparable to Mickey Mouse. Or well, it depends: If Mickey Mouse is a fixed part of a given panorama, then yes :) I crawled through a lot of legal text to finally find that this picture falls under the German freedom of panorama (see definition here). Hey Platonides. Thanks for helping out!

Re User:Brtoken: I think the message you left on this user's talk page is a good one. It won't always be that everything can be resolved immediately. Asking the uploader about the purpose is good. The images say "for wikipedia" but they're not being used anywhere. Images can be nominated for deletion for failing to meet commons:project scope which is pretty much what you would say for images that make you say, "er, what?" (assuming licensing is OK). You could perhaps be a tiny bit more polite in future though. :P Sometimes (or, often) users are very concentrated on their own project and don't put any effort into good image practice here. What might seem baffling could actually have some strange use (although not always, which is why we ask...).

For "permission from X" claims, what you have done is correct although I agree not always appropriate. It depends a bit on how you judge the validity of the claim. If you think there's no chance it's true then tagging this way is OK. If you think it's possible it's true then maybe just ask the uploader for further information. Usually they won't have the "right" permission. Ask them to use something from Email templates (fill in a specific license) and forward the permission to permissions@wikimedia.org . Then we can use {{permissionOTRS}} on the image with the correct license tag. Alternatively they can post the information on the image/category talk page or a user sub page. But if they do this it still needs to be that "strong" permission, "OK for Wikipedia" is NOT OK!

You can make a template to use to express this if you wish, but it might be hard to condense like this~ I also find that users tend to ignore generic templates as opposed to personal, specific requests for information.

You can either follow up with the users about what they should be doing (remember they often reply on their own talk page too), or else just firmly direct them to the Commons:Help desk.

The stargate glyph http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:StargateGlyph01.png is from English Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:StargateGlyph01.png and all glyphs at http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Stargate_glyphs are from English wiki. I think all glyphs should be transfered from en-wiki as is (especially pegasus ones i'll need soon on fr), and then create separate transparent ones, or event better svg ones...

Modifing the 01 glyph which is used on many wikis is not a good idea IMHO, even if transparency is...

You are right. I simply name the Images correctly and then I press upload. But if you tell me what I have to change I will do it instantly!
  • The first thing I have to say is, that I will upload the missing pictures as soon as possible. Please continue to inform me which pictures are missing.
  • The second thing is that I think the {{information}} template really not nessecary for my projects. If you would create a user friendly tool for uploading books (perhaps based on the commonist) you would help much users (like me) working on wikisource projects.
  • If you could tell me how I get your java-script working (which you are using for retagging my pictures) I could get other books working that I have already uploaded.

Por ello, en alemania el SPD, grünen y la CDU dicen que es público (http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:SPD.png http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:B%C3%BCndnis_90_Die_Gr%C3%BCnen.svg) o en francia que es GNU General Public License (http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:Logo_parti_socialiste_france.png).

Por lo tanto es un caso similar al alemán, registrado por el partido pero de dominio público.

  • La primera imagen que enumeraste , es creación propia (sacada de la otra wikipedia pero editada y arreglada por mí).
  • La Tercera (la segunda es la misma que la primera) la saqué de http://www.wwe.com/inside/titlehistory/worldtagteam/2448432.
  • La Cuarta, estaba disponible en el shop de la WWE, pero no logré encontrar la página donde se ubica.

No sé si sirva de algo pero TODAS estas imágenes pertenecen a una carpeta de mi computador (Mis Imágenes).

Lamentablemente en commons de la wikipedia en español, no se puede subir nada de lo que a mi me interesa, deberían tomar el ejemplo de la wikipedia en ingles, llena de imagenes, y permitir algunas cosas que solo causan que las paginas se vean frias y sin gracia.

Entonces me ire de commons y volvere solo cuando se pueda subir lo mismo que en commons en ingles. De todas formas agradezco tu ayuda.

Lmbuga creó la navegación para saltar entre idiomas (así podría cambiarse de idioma en el caso de no poder hacerlo en las preferencias), pero surgió un problema. Con el wikicode la presentación de todas las lenguas era correcta menos la entrada en inglés, poniendo los enlaces como unha clase externa en la entrada en inglés funciona pero no en el resto de las páginas. ¿Conoces algunha solución o sabes de algún atributo class que permita corregir eso? Hola, tengo que hacerte una consulta. Tras solicitar a dos usuarios unas fotos de Maradona en flickr, y que me dieran la licencia en forma expresa, las subí aclarando y citando esa autorización. Algunos usuarios me aclararon que debía enviar esa autorización a permissions(arroba)wikimedia(punto)com. Me indicaron también, que me enviarían un ticket OTRS que debía colocar junto a la cita de la autorización en el archivo. Les solicité a los autores que me envien nuevamente la autorización, pero esta vez a mi correo electrónico (habían sido gestionadas por el correo interno del sitio). Uno me respondió en forma inmediata (el otro todavía no), y yo reenvie ese correo a la dirección nombrada antes, sin agregar absolutamente nada (me habían dicho que simplemente lo reenvíe). El problema es que a casi dos semanas, no he recibido ningún tipo de respuesta y quería saber si el trámite demora mucho tiempo o si yo he realizado algún paso en forma incorrecta. Hola Platonides, te escribo para aclarar lo referente a las imágenes de la PEGI. Bueno, esos gráficos los hice en el CorelDraw!(c), después los exporté a la extensión .png, modificándolos en lo posible para que no sean idénticos a los oficiales, pero sí manteniendo cierta similitud. El fin de crearlos es meramente para usarlos como dibujos representativos de los logos de clasificación que usa la PEGI, de otra manera creo que quedaría inconcluso el artículo al no identificarse los certificados que maneja dicha organización de manera visual. En esta dirección[3] puedes ver las imágenes que usan en la enwiki y que si son los diseños originales que usa la PEGI, ejemplo parecido son los logos que hice también para la BBFC. Podría encontrar otras, y de hecho las subiré. El problema está en que seguirán siendo igual de originales (por ser tetimonio de una época pero sin carácter artístico), o estás dejaran de serlo, porque la feria de Ayerbe era año tras año igual y es muy difícil distinguir en que año están hechas. Hola, te pido ayuda en este tema ya que sos de habla castellana: en estos dias se borraron varias imagenes por Nilfanion porque no me habia llegado la licensia para usarlas. Hoy me llego y la mande por mail a permissions@wikimedia.org segun me solicito Alhen. Me comunique con Alhen pero ahora me habla en ingles en lugar de español, no se por que, pero bueno, la cuestion es que quisiera que se restituyan esas imagenes ya que no estoy seguro de tenerlas a todos para volver a subirlas. While I do speak a little Spanish (among other languages) I'm not quite fluent enough to do a really good job of translation, though I've been told that making some sort of attempt is very important. Please do not replace non-unique images with one image or something like that. This will ruin some of my and most of Waugsberg's work. I belive in the end we will not have enough pictures for the mosaic, so some of them will stay non-unique and they are already in place. Yes, I've made some edits that were not to put in images but to smooth it up and compose images (like moving the cake near to the coffee ;)). While trying to understand what is implied, I incidentally found some pages in the Wikipedia discussion site which, though not related strictly to images seem to make some light on the issue. I am raising these questions because if I request somebody to grant a licence, I should be able to explain exactly what the implications are. The persons to whom I am talking (or writing) are not lawyers, and some of them may be in remote countries where they have no detailed knowledge of international copyright laws.

What I seem to have understood and I would kindly request you to correct me is the following:

Wikipedia simply requests a licence for the use of the picture which is actually not a free gift of all rights to the picture tto the entire humanity. That means that the picture can be used freely by anyone, without having to pay royalties. However, a license is just for use and does not make anybody else the owner of the image. It does not give the right to anybody else to register a copyright of the picture whether in its initial form or with any kind of modifications. As a consequence, the licence does not relieve any user of the free use license of the obligation of acknowledging the ownership (authorship or however it is called) of the person who has issued the image. If so requested by the granter of the license, the picture may be freely used but may have to indicate: picture taken by Mr. XYZ or any other indication requested by the author.

If this is true, I would make a statement about this to the persons from whom I request the license, so that they understand. Simply indicating GFDL or some other acronym without any explanation simply scares people off. You may not believe it, but in this modern world, many people are scared off by lawyers and legal issues. People are willing to help, but want to avoid getting into the legal trouble GFDL might imply.

I would appreciate if you would confirm this interpretation or enlighten me about details I may not have understood, so that I can explain these conditions to others.
